AHMT is a non-profit Faith Based Trust of the Sisters of the Infant Jesus. The Alois Haene Memorial Trust which comprises of communities in Gweru and Masvingo in Zimbabwe, Chimoio in Mozambique and Wheeling-Charleston, West Virginia in the United States Dioceses. The congregation established Alois Haene Memorial Trust and an Oversight Committee to establish a network among projects that are run by the congregation. Various community based projects that address the needs of women and children include; HIV/AIDS affected and infected people, the Mentally Handicapped People, Orphans, School Drop Outs, Disadvantaged Groups, etc.
The name "Alois Haene" was chosen in honor of the founder of the congregation who was dedicated to the HIV/AIDS fight and the promotion of the dignity of women and the young girls. It also came about as a result of a growing realization over the past years that there is need for the congregation to shift the trend for its projects from welfare to viable economic projects. This shift would benefit the grass root communities in this time of economic crisis that are living in dire poverty especially women and the young girls
